Bedekovčina lakes were created in the period from 1937 to 1950, the excavation of clay to a depth of 8 meters for the needs of the brick industry. These are clsoed water systems, but connected to each other. These are stagnant water depths of up to 5 meters, relatively well covered with underwater vegetation and medium-eutrophic dominated by cyprinids.
There are five lakes as follows:
– “First Lake” – area 1.40 ha, the volume of approximately 28,000 m3 of water with an average depth of 2.5 m,
– “Second Lake” – area of 1.60 ha, the volume of approximately 32,000 m3 of water with an average depth of 2.5 m,
– “Lake Granja” – area of 2.60 ha, the volume of approximately 52,000 m3 of water with an average depth of 4 m,
– “Lake near Fishing house” – area of 1.70 ha, the volume approximately 42,400 m3 of water with an average depth of 4 m,
– “Blue Lake” – area of 3.8 ha, the volume of approximately 95,000 m3 of water with an average depth of 4 m, a maximum depth of 4.85 m.
